ACL Reconstruction

In the field of ACL reconstruction, Dr Howell is the designer of the Rapid Recovery 65° Tibial Guide and EZLoc/WasherLoc anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction system for Biomet Sports Medicine. Dr Howell and Hull’s research team have validated that placement of the tibial and femoral tunnels in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction without roof and PCL impingement are the key surgical steps for enabling the patient to rapidly recover motion and function without bracing and return to sport 4-5 months after ACL reconstruction. This website contains a series of informational videos and scientific publications by Dr Howell that show the principles of avoiding roof and PCL impingement, surgical technique, and self-administered brace-free, aggressive rehabilitation.
