LEARN ABOUT THE REPICCI II® KNEE
This device is much smaller (Figure 1) than the total knee joint implant (Figure 2), and may prevent or delay the need for a total knee replacement. The advantages of the unicompartmental knee are that it only replaces the damaged bone of the knee and preserves the undamaged bone. This procedure will allow the surgeon to leave the knee in as natural a state as possible. With this surgery you will have a smaller incision, quicker recovery and less bone removal. While both procedures are excellent and help to restore knee function, you and your physician will determine which procedure is the best option for you.
